Conflict
At the heart of this composition lies a delicate war—one fought not with swords, but with silent echoes of thought and feeling. The painting, inspired by the Babanakkas style, flourishes with intricate, flowing motifs that dance around two opposing forces: the brain and the heart.
The brain, structured and analytical, is depicted in rigid geometric forms—sharp, calculated, almost crystalline. Its patterns are precise, like the architecture of logic itself, but cracks run through it, jagged lines revealing its fractures.
The heart, in contrast, pulses with fluid arabesques, organic and unpredictable. Swirling vines of emotion extend outward, unfurling with passion, yet even here, fractures exist—signs of past wounds, of moments torn between love and reason.
Yet, they do not remain broken.
A golden thread, inspired by the Kintsugi technique, stitches these shattered elements together, not to erase the damage, but to honor it. The radiant veins of gold do not merely repair; they highlight the struggle, the beauty in imperfection. This thread weaves through both the brain and the heart, binding them in a fragile yet unbreakable unity—opposition and harmony coexisting.
The background, adorned with Ottoman-inspired floral embellishments, hints at the unseen forces that shape this conflict—memories, choices, the whispers of fate.
In the end, is it the heart that must surrender to reason, or the mind that must soften to emotion?
The golden thread does not choose a side. It only reminds us that true strength comes not from avoiding fractures, but from embracing them.
