KOI FISH
 
This original piece of my own design is free hand drawn and painted. It is in classical tezhip style painted with hand prepared gold. 
 
Created using 22 carat yellow gold, watercolour, and gouache on paperboard.
 
The size of the painting with mount is approx. 29x29cm and with black frame approx 35x35cm.
 
This symmetrical art type is called "Tezhip" illumination which means ornamenting with gold, hence gold is one of the main material used in my paintings.
The gold is burnished in a way as to give a beautiful shine which catches the light in different ways throughout the day illuminating the pattern almost giving it life.
